The Holland Sports Get Fit Club (HSGFC) is run by a dedicated set of enthusiastic volunteers who wish to encourage more of our community to be more active, more often. We wish to inspire adults to regularly participate in aerobic activity and strength exercise several times every week; either on their own, with their family or groups of friends, or to join us in free training sessions. The club is driven by our experienced and qualified coaches, following a suitable range of guidance such as NHS "Live Well" to support our community as they progress from couch to fitness.
We wish to gain a wide local membership, emphasising that joining the club is free, as are all of our services. Our target members would be unfit/inactive adults, including elderly and disabled persons. Active, fit adults may join or continue in our club, gaining our advice to continue their health lifestyle. However eventually they may feel our sister club, the Holland Sports Athletics Club (HSAC) may be more suitable for their needs.
Each member will be given a Welcome Pack of information containing advice on how to make the most of our club. Members will be encouraged to use the park to get fit for free and to learn good exercise techniques in groups, with the aim that they can replicate what they have learnt in an independent way to suit their lifestyle and needs.
Our website, social media and a hands on training sessions will aim to share relevant information regarding health issues, fitness programmes and exercise techniques to ensure each members reaches their personal goals.
Club training sessions will be organised at Mill Lane Recreation Ground, Hurst Green, RH8 9DF; a six hectare public park, one of the King George V “Fields in Trust”. Each session will make use of a range of new and existing facilities such as a Muga for warm-up/warm-down, a +800 metre all weather Trim Trail plus two new exercise stations, as well as an eight piece Outdoor Gym. The Trim Trail has been designed to combine with the Muga and Outdoor Gym to offer an all year round circuit. These facilities will be at the heart of a new Get-fit club and will but in use from October 2018 onwards. The Club will also encourage its members to participate in additional events such as Sports Relief, Children In Need, National Fitness Day and Park Runs.
